Badminton WA Launches Exciting New Partnership with Healthway and Fuel to Go & Play
Badminton WA is thrilled to announce a powerful new partnership with Healthway, proudly promoting the Fuel to Go & Play health message across our junior and community participation programs.
This significant partnership with Healthway will directly support the launch and rollout of our innovative “Smash & Dash” program, as well as enhance our Wings junior development initiatives and a range of statewide school and youth tournaments.
Executive Officer of Badminton WA, Rob Kennedy shared his enthusiasm for the partnership:
“Funding partners like Healthway are absolutely vital to the work we do. The Fuel to Go & Play message aligns perfectly with our mission to engage young people in sport while also encouraging healthy, active lifestyles. Badminton is a fantastic vehicle for teaching life-long habits, and we’re proud to be using our programs to promote better food choices and hydration to kids and their families across WA.”
Throughout the year, Fuel to Go & Play messaging will be embedded in programs, signage, competitions, and educational resources at all junior tournaments and Wings holiday sessions. Participants will learn how to fuel their bodies with nutritious food, hydrate with water, and choose healthy snacks that support their on-court performance and overall wellbeing.
Among the highlights of the initiative:
-
Smash & Snack Challenge – A creative competition encouraging kids to design and share their own healthy snack recipes.
-
Nutrition Education Integration – Practical resources and workshops provided to coaches, parents, and participants.
-
Healthy Venue Initiatives – Working with facilities to reduce sugary drink promotion and increase access to healthier options.
-
Club Canteen Refresh Incentives – A push to shift local venues toward more nutritious offerings and supportive food environments.
Together with Healthway and the Fuel to Go & Play team, Badminton WA is not only expanding access to badminton but also helping to create a healthier, more active WA – one shuttle smash at a time.
