Summer Championships Close Out a Blockbuster 2025 Season for Badminton WA

Badminton WA has wrapped up its final tournament of the 2025 calendar with a spectacular finish at the Summer Championships, delivering a weekend packed with intensity, sportsmanship and top-tier action on court. This year’s event saw 283 entrants competing across all senior and junior divisions, marking one of the strongest participation numbers in recent years. Over two full days of competition, players battled through an impressive 390 matches, showcasing skill, discipline and passion from the opening serve to the final championship point.

 

Senior Champions Shine to Close Out the Year

The 2025 Summer Championships produced outstanding performances from some of Western Australia’s top athletes:

  • Men’s Singles: Eveshgaran Vasigaran
  • Women’s Singles: Bernice Teoh
  • Men’s Doubles: Timothy Sentosa & Fabian Wong
  • Women’s Doubles: Bernice Teoh & Dharshinie Vasigaran
  • Mixed Doubles: Julian Lee & Dharshinie Vasigaran

Bernice Teoh and Dharshinie Vasigaran were among the standout performers, each securing multiple titles in dominant fashion.

Junior Talent Impresses Across Age Groups

The junior divisions once again highlighted the depth of WA’s emerging talent, with spirited and highly competitive matches across the weekend.

Junior Champions Included:

  • Combined Boys & Girls Singles U11: Ying Ting Sng
  • Boys Doubles U11: Harrison Loh & Royce Yip
  • Boys Singles U15: Zhe Yang Sng
  • Girls Singles U15: Atlas Ho

These young athletes brought enthusiasm and high-level play to the courts, earning praise from coaches and spectators alike.
