Country Week Carnival Returns  – Celebrating Regional Badminton Across WA
📍 Kingsway Indoor Stadium | 31 May – 1 June 2025

Badminton WA is thrilled to welcome 17 teams from across Western Australia to the 2025 Country Week Carnival, held this weekend at Kingsway Indoor Stadium.

Teams were invited from all regions of WA, with this year’s carnival being a celebration of the strength, spirit, and unity of our regional badminton communities. The event brings together passionate players, dedicated volunteers, and proud clubs for a weekend of competition, connection, and celebration.

Badminton WA Executive Officer, Rob Kennedy, highlighted the vital role of regional communities in the sport’s continued growth across the state:

“Country Week is more than just a competition; it’s a celebration of the passion and dedication of our regional clubs and volunteers. Badminton WA is currently developing a new Regional Development Plan to support our growing network across Western Australia. The focus will be on participation growth, venue development, volunteer support, and coach/deliverer education. We want every region to feel connected, supported, and empowered to grow the game locally.”

Carnival Information

Team Competition Format
Teams have been split across three divisions, with matches running throughout the weekend. Singles matches will be played as one game to 30 points, while doubles matches remain best of three games. With such a strong response, there may be room for one more late team entry—interested clubs are encouraged to get in touch promptly.

Mixed Doubles – Sunday Afternoon Spotlight
The individual mixed doubles competition will take place on Sunday afternoon, and currently features 10 pairs. Entries remain open until Wednesday, 28 May, with a registration fee of $20 per pair. Don’t miss the chance to compete in this fast-paced, fun event!

Catering and Community
To keep our players and spectators fuelled, a food truck will be onsite on Saturday, with plans underway for similar catering on Sunday. Whether you're competing or cheering from the sidelines, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

Special Presentations & Celebration
The Trophy Presentation will take place upstairs at Kingsway Indoor Stadium on Sunday from 4:00pm – 5:30pm, with food and drinks provided. Awards will include:
🏆 Trophies and Medallions for all divisions

Spotlight on our Junior State Talent

Adding to the excitement, the U15 and U19 WA State Teams will be training at Kingsway on Sunday morning—a great chance to watch some of our emerging talent in action. While some of our top U15 players will be away in Melbourne for a national training camp and international challenge against New Zealand, the rest of our junior squad will be on show locally.

Badminton WA would like to thank all participating clubs, volunteers, and supporters who make this event possible. Most of our Board Members will be present across the weekend, and for those who haven’t yet had the opportunity, come and say hello to our Executive Officer, Rob Kennedy, who will be at Kingsway on Saturday morning.

We look forward to a memorable weekend of friendship, competition, and celebration of all things badminton.

See you at Country Week 2025!
