This year’s State Open Championships attracted an impressive 267 entries, with players travelling from across Western Australia – including Beverley, Bunbury, Geraldton, and Mandurah, as well as competitors from overseas. In total, 107 trophies were awarded, alongside $4,950 in prize money distributed to Open winners, runners-up and semi-finalists, and a further $2,000+ in prize money for winners in the graded events.

Badminton WA was also pleased to welcome Life Members as VIP guests to the Open finals, recognising their ongoing contribution to the sport. Special thanks go to Referee Eugene Glazman, Deputy Referee Jiten Bhatt and Photographer Hengky Manoppo for their leadership throughout the event, and to the small but dedicated group of volunteers on the Match Desk who ensured everything ran smoothly.
Christine Ferguson, President of Badminton WA, praised the athletes and the event’s atmosphere:
"This year's WA State Open Championships truly highlighted the incredible depth of talent we have here in Western Australia. The level of play was outstanding, but what really stood out was the sportsmanship between players. Congratulations to all the winners and a big thank you to everyone who made the weekend such a success."
Badminton WA congratulates all winners, finalists, and participants for their dedication and competitive spirit. We extend our gratitude to the officials, umpires, volunteers, and supporters who made the event possible.
We look forward to another exciting year of badminton in Western Australia, and to seeing these athletes continue to shine on and off the court.
