Coastal Ladies Badminton League held an Open Day Competition on Monday 12th October at Kingsway Indoor Stadium, starting. Entry Fee included coffee, tea and lunch after the games. Players were partnered within grades by The Committee and 'Round Robin' format was used.

HIGGS TROPHY 2009. The State Junior Team and Individual Championships was played at Kingsway in October with over 100 players competing during the week. more

In 2010 Badminton Australia will be hosting a week long National Junior Camp in Victoria from January 11-15. The camp will also serve the purpose of selection trials for the inaugral Oceania Junior Championships, in New Zealand in February. UNDER 15 STATE TEAM BACK FROM QUEENSLAND. The team returned from the Under 15 Val Nesbitt Carnival in Brisbane with a 5th placing in the teams event and Plate winners in Girls and Mixed Doubles. more

Silver Cup Badminton Doubles Tournament was held at Kingsway over the weekend of 19-20th September, for a round-robin doubles and mixed comp with a twist.more

DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOLS COUNTRY WEEK COMP SEP 2009. The inaugral competition was held at Loftus Recreation Centre, with 14 teams competing over 5 days. more

The WA Senior State Team Bronze! The WA Senior State Team came back from a successful trip to the Senior National Carnival in Tasmania with Bronze in the Team events and in the Individuals, the Captain/Coach, Nick Kidd won the Men's Singles Championships for the very first time. more

JUNIOR PENNANT FINAL. The semester 1 Junior Pennant final was played on 25th July at Craigie Leisure Centre between South Lake Knights and the Craigie Dugites . more

FUTURE STARS BADMINTON CHAMPIONSHIPS 2009. Over 270 players participated at the Future Stars Badminton Championships held at Morley Recreation Centre over the weekend of 18-19th July. more

JUNIOR OPPORTUNITY CAMP. 26 young players participated in 9 hours of badminton coaching during 3 sessions of the Junior Oportunity Camp, held at the Kingsway Indoor Stadium 6-8th July. more

2009 WA STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS. Kingsway Stadium was buzzing on the weekend 13-14th June with more than 150 badminton players vying for State Titles. more

BE ACTIVE COUNTRY CARNIVAL. The 2009 Be Active Country Carnival, on the weekend 30-31st May, was a great success with players from Geraldton, Bunbury, Upper Great Southern, Kalgoorlie, and Mandurah all competing. The WA Under 19 Team also competed in Division 1. more

BADMINTON WA ANNUAL AWARDS. A sundowner in the Treetops Function Room, at the conclusion of the Country Carnival on 31st May, included the trophy presentation plus the Badminton WA Annual Awards function to recognise the achievements of the winners of the various categories. more

SUDIRMAN CUP 2009, CHINA. 4 WA representatives came back from China having represented Australia in their respective roles at the Sudirman Cup. Leisha Cooper played for the Australian National Team, Jiten Bhatt Line Judged, Kelly Hoare Umpired and Jane Wheatley refereed at the prestigious international event. more

STATE UNDER 19 TEAM SELECTED. The U19 team was selected and participated at the CP Maddern Under 19 Carnival, which took place in Bendigo, Victoria. The players returned having had some valuable experience at the national level. more

COACHING COURSE. A Level 1 coaching course was held in June at Kingsway Indoor Stadium. It was well attended and some useful knowledge was passed down to the attendees.

U17s June Bevane News. The WA U17s State Team along with the Geraldton-WA Team have returned from Ballarat after gaining great experience in International competition at the National Under17s Carnival. Congratulations to Eddie Hung - Runner Up Singles Champion and winner of the Sportsmanship Award, and also to Benedict Xu and Katherine Ong - winners of the Plate Mixed Doubles. more

Kingsway Badminton Tournament. The Kingsway Badminton Tournament held on the weekend 28-29th March was a great success. One hundred and sixty players, ranging in age from 10 to nearly 70 years competed in Round Robin matches across all grades. more

Be Active Schools Tournament. A very successful upper school tournament with 156 students was held at Kingsway recently. Winning pair from Ocean Reef - Boys Doubles : Nato Huynh & Luke Bunting. 2 state junior girls (Carolyn Ho & Cynthia Tam) representing Servite College & Penrhos College, were decisive winners in the Girls Doubles. Nick Kidd & Jonathon Yong gave a demonstration of singles play, which was greatly enjoyed by all the students.

Teachers Professional Development Day. 25 Teachers attended a teachers professional development day at Kingsway to improve their knowledge and skills of the sport to assist their TEE students. Nick Kidd and Kay Terry presented the course, which covered specific skills and drills required in the TEE course.

2008 ANZ WA Sports Star Awards. On the 8th January 2009 there was a Sports Awards Dinner to recognise the outstanding achievements of our State's talented and commited people in a diversity of roles, including in Badminton. more

PHYLLIS JUPP AWARDED PRESTIGIOUS BRIAN "PUTTER" SMITH SPORTS PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR GONG. Longevity in sport was was rewarded at the 2008 Geraldton Guardian Mid West Sports Awards on Saturday 1 November, with badminton diehard Phyllis Jupp awarded the prestigious Brian "Putter" Smith Sports Personality of the Year gong.
