The President's Cup Competition was initiated in 1994 on the basis of a President's Team (invited players) playing the State Senior Team as a lead up to the Ede Clendinnen Shield. The event has lapsed in recent years but was resurrected recently when the President's Team played the WA U17 Team as a competitive match for this junior group prior to their departure to New Zealand to play in the Australasian Junior Championships.

The Presidents Team comprised: Damien Si, Eric Low, Farid Salleh, Jiten Bhatt, John Botha, William Thwe, Alison Morrison, Joyce See and Beth Hollett.

The round of Singles resulted in a 5-5 draw but the Doubles and Mixed Doubles matches saw the guile and the experience of the older players come into play and the President's Team took out the Cup in a decisive manner.

Thank you to the invited players who competed in this enjoyable afternoon. The U17's would have gained some further insights into the game through these competitive matches.

There will be other Presindent's Cup matches against the WA U19's and Senior team later in the year.
