Clubs application to host Badminton WA events in 2008

Badminton WA invites clubs around the state to express their interest in hosting the following events:

1. Badminton WA Welcome back Tournament: 1^st weekend March
2. Badminton WA state Open Championships: 2^nd Weekend in May
3. Badminton WA Farewell Tournament: 1^st Weekend in November

The benefits:

• Prestige
• Fundraising
• Common goal of the club
• Establishing long term sponsorship opportunities

The requirements:

• Affiliated Clubs and their affiliated membership can host the event
• All clubs can express interest with a view to attaining affiliation.
• Anticipated number of players are 100
• 2 day event for under 15, over 17 seniors and veterans, singles, doubles and mixed doubles.
• Multiple locations in one town, shire may be used.

Opportunity:

1. This is an annual process of selection and the chance to host an event will come around again.
2. These events are linked to the State Team Selection process and this helps generate participation, and local media interest.
3. Badminton WA can help the tournament with promotion to members and the wider community, sourcing officials, tournament software, event management and general support.

2. Submit by 14^th October of this year
