Badminton WA Be Active Country Carnival teams tournament 31/5/08-1/6/08

The family that plays together. The Erceg family Geoff (dad),Steven (17), Dylan(12), Crystal (15) and Daniel "peanut" (8), Cheryl (mum) from Esperance are part of a 25 people team competing in the Badminton WA Be Active Country carnival.

90 players from around the state, Geraldton to Esperance competed in the teams event with Division 1, 2 and 3. This two day badminton tournament gave the country people a chance to shine and see the big smoke. Bunbury won both 1st and 2nd Division with Halls Head winning 3rd division. Bunbury president Greg Jackson is pleased with the result and the club regularly has state representatives competing at national Badminton tournaments.

The energy of the players, especially the young ones is reflected in the enthusiasm of the more senior players some in their 60's. Badminton is a great way to be active for all ages with its low impact dynamics. Lightweight racket, simple rules and sun free courts. We invite everyone to seek out a badminton club at www.badmintonwa.org.au to be active with badminton.
Division 1: 1st Bunbury, 2nd Upper great Southern, 3rd Geraldton, 4th Metro Young Guns
Division 2: 1st Bunbury, 2nd Geraldton, 3rd Esperance 1 , 4th Esperance 2
Division 3: 1st Halls Head, 2nd Bunbury , 3rd Geraldton, 4th Esperance
